Ongoing monitoring
Four-week review
At four weeks perform a physical examination and assess clinical response. Glycaemic control can be assessed via a spot glucose, although be aware that results can still be impacted by stress hyperglycaemia. Therefore, if still hyperglycaemic check for medication compliance and consider either repeating a spot blood glucose or a fructosamine. Perform a urinalysis to evaluate for the presence of ketones or a urinary tract infection.
Long-term monitoring
Long-term, cats on Senvelgo® should be reviewed routinely in line with standard diabetes management guidelines. Reassessment every three months is recommended, including evaluation of clinical response, glycaemic control (e.g. spot glucose) and urinalysis to check for ketones and urinary tract infections.

Owners play a key role in long-term success
They should be encouraged to monitor appetite, thirst, activity and overall wellbeing, and to check urine ketones if any signs of illness arise.
The larger 30 ml bottle will provide the best value option for long-term treatment.
